Certifications Available
Certification is a formal process to verify competence. Certification is available in the following technical disciplines:
- Process Hazard Analysis (PHA)
- Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA)
- Dust Hazard Analysis (DHA)
- Process Safety Auditing
- Process Safety
- Procedure Writing
Certification is offered at three increasing levels of competence: Practitioner, Specialist, and Expert, with the exception of procedure writing. These levels are indicative of a progression in knowledge, understanding and ability to apply skills in specific technical disciplines.
A Practitioner is a professional who has the knowledge and understanding of the technical discipline necessary to competently take a leading role. A Practitioner possesses a minimum of one year's experience related to the technical discipline.
A Specialist is a professional who competently performs the functions in the specific technical discipline. A Specialist has in-depth knowledge and abilities in the technical discipline. A Specialist possesses a minimum of five years' experience related to the technical discipline.
An Expert is a professional who expertly performs the functions of the technical discipline. An Expert has an advanced knowledge and abilities in the technical discipline. An Expert possesses a minimum of ten years' experience related to the technical discipline.
Requirements for each certification can be accessed through the Certifications menu by technical discipline and level of competence.
Certifications are valid for three years. Recertification requirements can be accessed through the Recertification menu by technical discipline and level of competence.
